I am a student in the Uru Mānuka Cluster. I am a Year 5 student and my teacher is Mrs Mclachlan. This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first drafts. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.
My name is Cheryl and I am the Education Coordinator at SPCA. I just wanted to let you know how awesome we think your blog post is!
Your photo and colour use is very eye-catching and the information about what people can donate is super helpful to SPCA as we rely on the generosity of the public to help us carry-out our life-saving work.
Since you are so passionate about animals and their welfare, you may be interested in exploring SPCA's Kids’ Portal (https://kids.spcaeducation.org.nz/). Here you can read more about SPCA, learn about animal care, download instructions for DIY enrichment toys, watch videos, and test your knowledge with the quizzes. There is even a space for you to share your work and send our SPCA Expert any questions you have about SPCA, animal welfare, and responsible animal guardianship (ownership).
Additionally, a new component of the Kids’ Portal is our Kind Matters newsletter. New issues are published each school term and are filled with animal-related facts, stories, activities, crafts, tips and most exciting of all – a competition! Right now we’re holding a “Caption This Photo” Competition. If you’d like to enter, you can find all of the details in issue 7 (November ’19) here: https://kids.spcaeducation.org.nz/newsletter/
Thank you again for spreading the word about SPCA and for your support. If you have any animal welfare and SPCA questions, please feel free to email education@spca.nz and we would be happy to answer them for you!
My name is Mikey. I'm a part of the Summer Learning Journey team and I'll be commenting on some of your wonderful blog posts over the summer break. Congratulations on completing your first activity! :)
What an awesome poster! I love the colour you've used - it caught my eye straight away! You've included some great information about the SPCA as well. Don't they do an amazing job? Did you know that, as well as donating things, you can volunteer at your local SPCA? I've always wanted to help take care of the puppies and dogs. Which animals would you most like to look after?
Have a great afternoon, Emily. I can't wait to read more posts from you soon!
